Finding things
Searching the map
Section titled “ Searching the map”Use the search field to find places, boats and users using keywords. You can search for:
- Places, boats and users by name
- Services offered on Boat Service markers (e.g. Mechanic, Rigger, Carpenter, etc.)
- Skills that a user has listed in their profile page
Filtering the map
Section titled “ Filtering the map”Filters are a powerful way to find things on the noforeignland map. Use filters to temporarily hide the markers you are not interested in and to focus on what matters to you.
You can filter by:
- Place marker type (e.g. show Marinas and Anchorages only).
- Your Favorites (e.g. Show friends boats, or places you have saved only).

Filtering boat groups
Section titled “Filtering boat groups”If you belong to a boat group, then look for the filter button on the group page. Filtering a boat group causes the map to only show where other members’ boat are.

Quick filter shortcuts in the app
Section titled “Quick filter shortcuts in the app”In the noforeignland app, tap the filter icon in the search bar to apply a quick filter to:
- Only show certain types of places
- Only show things you’ve saved in your Favorites
- Only show boats you are Following
- Only show boats that have recently moved or reported their location
- Only show community posts
- Jump to the Advanced filter settings
Applying filters on the website
Section titled “Applying filters on the website”On the noforeignland website, the filter button is located at the side of the map.
Open the Map Filters page to filter the boats and places shown.
Resetting filters
Section titled “Resetting filters”When filters are active, a warning message is overlaid on the map. Tap the close icon on the warning to reset the filters.
