Free courtesy flag packs

Our flag packs are high-quality PDF files you can print on fabric to make your own courtesy flags.

You just need to:

  1. Download a flag file
  2. Print it on suitable fabric
  3. Cut out the flags
  4. Sew them onto a lanyard

Printing and stitching the flags yourself makes them very inexpensive. The last time we made them, each flag cost under $1.50 USD.

You can use any print service that offers fabric printing.

We used PixartPrinting in the UK. They had good reviews, sensible prices, and delivered on time. Note that they only deliver to the country shown on your billing address.

When ordering with PixartPrinting, choose the following options:

We’ve also heard of good results from other printers. Please send us a message if you find another reliable option — we’ll add it here.

If you print to the dimensions listed for each file, each courtesy flag will be the standard size of 45 cm × 30 cm (half yard). Some chandlers sell smaller flags (around 30 cm × 20 cm). If you prefer that size, ask your printer to scale the file to two-thirds of the normal size.

We’ve included a few of our own burgees in each file — we hope you’ll fly one on your spreaders and make a few extras for friends!

Not at all. Anyone with a sewing machine and a bit of time can do it. Read this article to see how we did it:
