Country: Greece

Anchor: beautiful anchorage in a big bay with sandy bottom. Best protection against prevailing winds is on the north side. Anchor in 12-15m on sand, it gets shallow very quickly so take care.
Ashore: restaurants on the road that runs parallel to the beach.
Don't miss: the Divari lagoon is home to more than 270 kinds of birds and other wild life (the African chameleon).

Offers protection from wind directions

Really special place, surrounded by wild nature and steep cliffs. From here you can explore the fortification on the hillside, 30min hike to the top, offering prestine views of Navarino Bay and the prettiest beach - Voidokilia, which you can also take an easy walk to. We had no insects on board.

By day this is a 5☆ spot, beautiful location, but once the sun sets and wind drops swarms of midges descend, we attacked with bug spray and covered the boat in dead midges but reinforcements kept arriving. It's awful.

One of these great spots where you can hang out at anchor for days.  Beaches, walks, nature reserve and historical sites.  One of our highlights of 3 seasons cruising Greece.
