This is a very nice anchorage with the imposing Monastery of Michael the Ark Angel.
Anchor: to the NE, usually good holding in 5-8m on muddy sand, holding is less good the further NE you go and it gets shallow. You can also anchor to the SW in 2-6m, make sure you get in as far as possible to avoid obstructing the ferry turning area. All round shelter from any weather. Fantastic anchorage as long as you don't anchor in front of the opening where you will get hit with a swell from the west.
Ashore: small shop and cafe on shore, usually a taverna in the summer. The monastery bakery is now closed. Bus to Symi Town is worth taking just for the views and the scary road. Good hiking around the area.
