Description

The Immigration office is about 1km to the North (white wooden building down a side street and across a plank bridge over a creek). Documents required:

  • A copy of the boat registration document.
  • A copy of clearance from our last port.
  • 2 crew lists signed and stamped with the ship´s stamp.
  • An “Immigration Regulations” form, signed and stamped with the ship´s stamp.
  • A normal immigration form for each crew member (see link below).

The Customs office is about 1km South from the dinghy landing, past the mosque. Customs in Springlands required:

  • An agent (Nivie, +592 629 8741) to find the right form for leisure boats, as Customs do not supply the forms.
  • A copy of the boat registration document.
  • A copy of the captain´s/owner´s passport.
  • Registration of the owner for a Guyanese TIN (Tax ID number) necessary to pay the clearance fee (G$2500).

Expect to spend at least half a day with immigration and clearing.

Dress code: long trousers and a collared long sleeve shirt.
