All arriving yachts should call Malta Port Authority VHF Channels 12 or 16 before entering the harbour. This is a formality and a safety issue as there is a lot of traffic going in and out of the harbours.
The Grand Harbour of Malta needs no introduction and it is interesting to visit this harbour by sea. The Grand Harbour has a number of creeks: Rinella, Kalkara, Dockyard French creek. There is also a cruise port in an area known as the waterfront and which is very well serviced with cafes, bars and restaurants. The waterfront is well worth a visit by tender from the various marinas.
