Anchor: 150m off the river bank in 2.5m + tide of mud; good holding despite regular 20-25 knot squalls (one anchor plus 35m chain). Make sure you give other yachts plenty of room as some boats will swinging and turning in all directions during the squalls (from NE). Currents can reach 4 knots.
Fuel by jerry can, 900m from the marina dock (turn left at the crossroads before the Mairie).
Ashore: there is a fish market and further along a small fruit and vegetable market with a few stalls offering Surinamese spices, a small supermarket, and several restaurants. Banks, supermarkets, laundry services, restaurants and bars etc in Kourou.
Don't miss: Tours of the Space Centre need to be booked in advance. No tours the days just before or after a rocket launch.
