The bay of Mazarrón extends from the tip of the Azohía to the port of Mazarrón; 35 km of beaches, cliffs and small coves.
You can anchor anywhere in the bay in about 5 m on the bottom of sand and algae. The recommended places for anchoring are the following:
To the NE of the tip of the Azohía in front of the Ascent village, that opens to the S. Avoid anchoring close to the fishing boats mooring buoys. Open to the winds from E and SE.
- To the East of Plana Island, in front of the beach, of gray sand and gravel, but of calm waters. Between the coast and the island there is a channel of half a meter depth only.
- In front of the beach of Mazarrón but keep distance off the small island of La Galerica.
