Friendly place to stop (expect to offer the police a 'petit cadueu' on check in/out though).
The village at the top of the hill is beautiful. Taxis are cheap if you find one with a meter; a trip up the hill to town cost under 1.50 dinars (about €0.50). Don't let them try and charge per person. The meter reads the price regardless of the number of passengers - just laugh it off and pay what's on the meter.

Entrance prone to silting we had 2.2m at the entrance (June 2019). Find deeper water to the land side of the entrance channel, go around the marker. Choppy with onshore winds. Nighttime entry was possible for us in setteled weather. We love it here, some locals at the harbour helping out with getting stuff. Only downside are the toilet and shower facilities wich are in bad shape. Friendly port staff and officials. Using a taxi is super cheap and easy just make sure they use the meter (rule of thumb 1km should not be more then 1.5 Dinars.) Sidi Bou Said is a lovely town. Go all the way back to la Marsa wich is where the locals live if you feel adventure. Make sure to visit Carthage the Therme and the Roman Villas are stunning.
