Facilities for berth holders

Located on the southern shore at the entrance to the Guadalquivir River, is a handy port of call for boats planning the 50-mile haul upriver or two-hour bus ride to Seville or a visit to the sherry-producing town of Sanlucar de Barrameda,

For advice on negotiating the Rio Guadalquivir up to Sevilla, ask to see the marina's copy of the excellent "Guide for the Navigation of Yachts (Guia para la Navegacion de Yates)".

Moor: to long reception pontoon at head of central mole (Muelle de Espera) directly beneath the marina office. Visitors usually berthed in the north east basin. Contact marina office in advance as marina often full in high season.

412 berths, 10 of which are reserved for vessels in transit. Maximum LOA 32 m; max draught 3.5 metres.

Port Control : VHF channel 12

Tel.: +(34) 856 109 711 - +(34) 600 143 522 ; Fax: +(34) 856 109 334

Shelter is good in the modern marina but the swell enters in NW gales.

Ashore: water and electricity. Toilets and showers. Laundrette. Fuel pontoon. Travel hoist (32T). Restaurant and bar.

Don't miss:

  • The town of Sanlucar de Barrameda about ten kilometers - although a major centre of production for the salty-tanged, dry manzanilla style of sherry, Sanlucar is an attractive town, with bodegas high on the hill alongside the castle and the lower town a maze of crooked streets and cobbled walkways. It is the perfect place to sample a glass or two of the local nectar straight from the barrel.
  • Take the bus to Seville (two hours away), with its wonderful Alcazar Palace (intricately detailed Moorish courtyards and fabulous gardens filled with palms and other exotic plants); magnificent cathedral (Christopher Columbus’ tomb); 97 metre-high Giralda tower (the only remnant of the original mosque) and atmospheric Barrio de Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter. For most cruising yachtsmen, a visit to Seville is one of the highlights of a cruise along this coast.
