For most west bound Atlantic crossers the first port of call and an iconic cross-roads. Almost every surface of the harbour is covered with paintings of boats, their crews and their missions. The marina is perfectly sheltered but always very crowded in season (June & July). Boats are rafted 3-4 deep against the main wall but there is room for dozens more at anchor. Report in at reception quay to be allocated a space. Facilities OK but can be a long walk, busy laundry.
