The Dry Tortugas National Park is well-worth the sail. There is no fuel, no wifi, no water, no electricity, and only primitive restrooms - but you get everything else that makes for a truly unforgettable stay. Tourists come from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM; once they leave, you have the place to yourself (plus a few campers and the folks who live there). Birds, sea life, and stars galore!
Be sure to sail over to the mooring ball on the far side of the "lighthouse island". You can moor for up to two hours and snorkel the Avanti, a shipwreck that goes from the surface to 30 ft below. Filled with barracuda, tarpon, nurse sharks, and goliath groupers, it is truly memorable!
