Small river port and market town home to fast ferries to Bartica, Leguan Island, and Supenaam.
Anchor: near the town, ensuring you do not obstruct the ferries or other commercial traffic. With prevailing winds, there is enough swell to make it uncomfortable from midday onwards, although it will calm down overnight.
Land your dinghy in the inner harbour next to the water taxis (very shallow at low tide).
It is possible to check in/out in Parika but formalities are quicker and simpler at Bartica. The Immigration office is close to the main ferry pier and they will direct you to the Customs office.
Ashore: small restaurants, several supermarkets, and a Scotia Bank branch with an ATM. There is a large fruit and vegetable, fish and meat market on Wednesdays and Sundays.
