Le Ceiba (Hurricane hole)

If you can't get into the Rio Dulce then this is your next option in the region. Officially below the hurricane belt you should be fine, but Mitch did hit the region back in the 90's pretty hard. Enter the harbour and head up past the Le Ceiba shipyard. There are old fishing vessels tied up to the mangroves. The further in you can head the safer you will be.
