The village is small, but cute full with its esplanade on the waterfront. La Rastinga is an ideal place to stop before crossing. The south coast of El Hierro, west of La Restinga, has been declared a nature reserve. Anchoring and diving is now prohibited in this protected area.

friendly little harbour with pontoons and the port official will advise you where to berth. Outside office hours the security guards deal with yachts.

The harbour is well protected even though when the wind is from the north, it blows strongly here.
Water and electricity. Toilet by the boatyard, (cold) shower on the beach and a hot one in the fisherman's bathroom in the boatyard. WiFi by the port office (PW from the office). Fuel berth. 24hr security. There are provisions and restaurants on shore. Chandler by the boatyard and several dive schools as nearby rocks and reefs are good for diving and snorking.
