We were tied stern-to with plenty of rode out on the eastern mole, when an early morning 40 knot beam on blow reared its ugly head. Surprisingly enough, the holding here seems great if your ground tackle has been well set. The ground has a hard gravel texture. Most yachts tied on alongside or stern too were fine, also the few out at anchor in the harbor itself. All in all seems a great bolt hole for any storm.
The views from the ruined castle on the hill above town are well worth the uphill trudge.
Be aware that the local youth use this mole as their local drag circuit for their souped-up scooters when evening comes.

When approching this port, the view of this small city against the steep hill is very nice.
The port is ok, with a few large bollards to tie to. Note that the concrete wall extends below the water on approx 20cm at about 1.25m below the top of the pier, so place your fenders very low to protect your lower hull.
Not much to be seen near the port but I was told that there are 3 large size supermarkets, including a Lidl. Also saw on Google Maps that there are some points of interest further inland of this city.
There is a water hose (dark brown colour) adjacent to the back wall. Water is free.
